Let us review the chronology of Iran's history very briefly. One should remember that after the Sassanians in mid 7th C. almost all periods and dynasties started with an overall devastation of our entire land

 

 

A short Chronology of Iran's History

ELAM

 

(3rd millennium - 640 BC)

 

Untash-gal (c. 1265-45) ,  builds  of Chogha Zanbil near Susa.

 

Shutruk Nahhunte (c. 1200).  

 

MEDES

 

(Mid - 7th  century BC)  Phraortes subdues the Persians.

 

612 Cyaraxes joins in the conquest of Assyria. 

 

ACHAEMENIDS 

 

549  BC  Cyrus  ( 559 - 30 )  defeats the Medes and founds Achaemenids.

 

Darius   I   ( 521 - 485 )

Xerxes  I    ( 485 - 465 )

Artaxerxes  I  ( 465 - 424 )

Artaxerxes  III  ( 361 - 338 )

 

331 BC Alexander the Great   ( d. 323 ) invades Achaemenids Empire and 

Macedonian rulers hold power until 307 BC.

( 305-171 BC, but with only partial control of Iran after c.250 )

Agha Muhammad Khan  ( 1796 - 1797 ) founds Qajars dynasty in 1796 and  choose Tehran as the Capital city  of Iran

Naseruddin Shah ( 1848 - 1896 )

 

Mozafaruddin Shah ( 1896 - 1906 ) Constitutional Law was written for the first time in Iran and the first Parliament set up in October 1906

Ahmad Shah - fall of Qajars( 1909 - 1925 )
